Winner of the 1987 Electron User amateur authors' competition.
From the author's old website:
In 1987, when I was 16, I wrote a text adventure game called Runestaff. I entered it for the Electron User "amateur game author" competition, and, to my surprise, won first prize. The game was released by the magazine publishers, but it was a rather low-key affair and I'm not even sure how many copies were sold.
