You're standing in the airport foyer, bags in hand. People rush around you, dragging their kids to the security check, looking suspicious with their hands in their pockets or running through the place like it's an amusement park.
The friend and guide who was supposed to translate for you left to get food but hasn't come back. You try to use your phrasebook but when you approach security guards, they can't understand you. When you approach everyone else, they look at you strangely and hurry away. It's not like you're in a rush — your flight is scheduled to leave in two hours — but being alone isn't that great.
You feel like a useless sign that nobody can read.
