You wake up from a tormented dream, only to find that you're in an endless line of people. You don't know where you are or how you got there. In fact, you can't remember who you are or what you do for a living or even what you look like! This can't be happening!
This is a translation of the Spanish game Olvido Mortal written by the same author. Both were written by Andrés Viedma Peláez using the pseudonym of 'Akbarr'.
This was originally entered in the 7th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition, but was disqualified for not being completely original. It has been criticised for the bad translation. Nick Montfort did a better translation called Dead Reckoning in 2003, but some elements of the story are actually clearer in Shattered Memory than in Dead Reckoning. Try playing them both. The hint file for Shattered Memory can be used for both games.
