Synopsis

Plot

You are on a beach vacation with your mum (although the Americans call her mom). Before you have a chance to do anything interesting, a uniformed beach ranger arrives on the scene and tells your mum that there's a telegram requiring her urgent attention back at the office...something about the sea monster.

While she's gone, you read the sign on the beach telling people to beware of the purple people eater. Ooh, sounds ominous. What's all this about sea monsters and purple people eaters anyway? You're about to find out...

Notes

This was an entry in Speed-IF Without Number.

The idea of the purple people eater and the syntactical ambiguity joke is probably based on the novelty song about the one-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eater written and performed by Sheb Wooley in 1958.
