This game is set in Victorian England in July 1892. You play the part of Hector, a nine-year old boy who has been left in the care of his Uncle Stephen (a nice, but boring clergyman at nearby Barchester Cathedral) and Aunt Emma (who means well, but won't let you have any fun).
It's a Sunday. The servants have the day off, it's gloriously sunny outside and you are confined to the armchair in the parlour while Aunt Emma reads her bible and Uncle Stephen studies ancient texts in his study. How can you possibly escape from the stuffy confines of the parlour to play in the woods and the sunshine outside?
5th place (out of 28) in the 18th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition.
The first release, as entered in the competition, was written under the pseudonym of Virgil Hilts. Later releases were written under his real name. The main enhancements in the later releases were additions to the built-in help.
