Confused and scared you managed to leave Hiperborea by stowing away on a black schooner to the city of Agea. Waiting to greet you was a mysterious man who followed you at every turn, just waiting for the chance to get you alone.
You soon learned that your shadow worked for a man called Tzarlang who was a wealthy merchant of dubious reputation. For some reason Tzarlang wanted you dead.
After a while you discovered a cave that lead up in to the Tzarlang mansion. You quietly snuck up in to the house through a series of secret passageways and once there you stole your way in to Tzarlang’s office.
But the merchant wasn’t there. After a quick search you noticed something odd about the mirror behind his desk. You reached your hand out to touch the glass but it passed right through!
Stepping in to the mirror you found yourself in an empty world of mist. In the distance you could hear Tzarlang talking with someone named Balthazar. Balthazar was angry with Tzarlang for failing to kill you. He kept talking about a prophecy and how they must keep you from reaching an oracle at a place called High Tsani.
Soon the conversation ended and you found yourself standing face to face with Tzarlang himself. Quickly you reached for your dagger and after a short fight you somehow managed to kill him.
That afternoon you asked everyone you could find about High Tsani. Most had never heard of the place but the priest had. He said that he had heard of an oracle on a mountain called High Tsani where men once went to speak to the old gods.
The oracle was said to be located far to the north of here at the top of a high snowy mountain. It was said that for a traveler to reach the oracle he needed to pass certain tests of character.
That was all the priest could tell you and he urged you not to trouble yourself with silly superstitions but your mind was already set. You would find the oracle.
Early before sun-up the next day you began your journey north.
