Synopsis

Two cousins inherit an old house in the Carpathians. After several vicissitudes when arriving at the mansion they discover that a curse weighs on their inhabitants and they will have to fight to see the dawn of a new day.

Notes

According to the author:

"'Transylvania Corruption: The Dawn of the Living' was conceived and designed as a graphic adventure. The first version was a video adventure developed by Kano in BASIC for Spectrum 48K in 1990. In the summer of 2008 the idea was taken up again as a graphic adventure starting from the original idea of a group of heirs who have to survive one night in a mansion in order to inherit. This script, used endlessly by movies and video games, evolved and incorporated numerous references to fantasy works, science fiction and mathematics.

"As the weeks went by, a complete design description was prepared but the original group was again reduced to Kano and Kambre. At that moment it was decided to create a text adventure in order not to lose all the work done and be able to tell the story. During this time the script continues to evolve and the story takes a couple of quite important turns. The introduction is rewritten several times and the puzzles keep increasing in number. The adventure goes through a couple of critical moments: one is the transition from Z-Machine to Glulx machine, and the other is the loss of debugging capacity. Fortunately, thanks to the help of David Kinder, a Glulx machine debugging mode is achieved and the adventure is channelled back towards its end.

"Throughout this period VonCouberg performs crucial tests in the adventure, helping to debug an endless number of errors. In the second year of life of the project Jenesis joins in the tasks of testing and gameplay leaving a deep imprint on both aspects of the adventure. In the final stages the entire old 'Misterio en el Ăšltimo Hogar' team comes together to help finish off the game in its literary and multimedia aspects.

"What you have in your hands right now is the fruit of two years of work and the effort of a good number of people who have collaborated in one way or another to bring this project to light. On behalf of the whole team thank you very much for playing, and I hope you enjoy as much as we do creating this adventure."
