Synopsis

Plot

The planet Ceti V is owned by eight fabulously wealthy mining Barons. The Barons run their planet on feudalistic lines, their employees (known as servitors) are well paid and well treated but have very few rights and no freedom outside the confines of their master's Baronial lands. Servitors can easily make their fortunes in ten to fifteen years of adult service, after which they can retire to a planet within the Federal Democracy.

As servitor Cross you are woken in the middle of the night by the shrill of the vidphone, you are surprised to see that the caller is your employer - Baron White. Your excellent record as a mine troubleshooter has come to the Baron's attention who has a new assignment for you. Baroness Black has been absent from the baronial meetings for the past two months, the Barons are sure that she is up to no good: it is well known that she has been experimenting with the Juxtaposition. Officially the Barons will not investigate, unofficially the Barons will help an independent party in return for some small services, this is where you come in. At first light you are to travel to Baron White's fort for further instruction in private as someone is monitoring the vidcall, and if the someone are agents of Baroness Black then they are most likely to send an assassin droid to take care of you...

Notes

Juxtaposition was the first Dragon game to incorporate panoramic graphics, there are nearly 32,000 first-person panoramic views of outside locations. There are also over 600 described interior locations where most of the text adventure part of the game takes place.

The sequel Usurper of Rune was never released and no copy is known to exist.
