The mayor of the local town has been possessed by a demon and poisons his daughter's fiancé. The poison turns the fiancé into a dragon. The dragon captures the daughter and keeps her captive in his cave. The mayor seeks a volunteer to rescue his daughter, but the volunteer gets eaten by the dragon. A new volunteer is sought and eaten and the process is repeated over three weeks.
The game starts in the town square. You find yourself in the latest lineup to find the next volunteer. Peter volunteers, but his idea of volunteering is tagging along behind you while you do the dirty work. So it's really up to you to rescue the mayor's daughter. If you fail to do so within 75 moves, the dragon eats Peter and the process is repeated with Gary, then Thomas, then you. When you are volunteered, you only get 12 moves to rescue the daughter, but you can extend your time by giving the dragon a treasure. Each treasure extends your time by 10 moves.
So, you end up having multiple objectives: find the treasures; solve the mystery; rescue the daughter, the fiancé and the mayor; achieve the maximum score of 140 points; and, ideally, do it while losing the minimum number of volunteers.
