SpecSoft's first adventure game was advertised as "a 64K adventure in four parts" and came bundled with a version of the arcade game Missile Command on side B of the tape. The arcade game has no bearing on the adventure.
Long thought missing, this game (alongside SpecSoft's Missile Command) can now be downloaded thanks to the generosity of Mark Aldrich.
Abysmal, even for the time. No puzzles, no parser, and progress in stages only requires reaching random locations. I solved it for completeness, but it was an experience I could have done without. One curiosity is that on completion, the available TZX copy identifies the game as distributed by Alligata, but as far as I could find, it was marketed under the Specsoft name. It is intriguing because both Specsoft and Alligata were based in Sheffield (and coincided in time as well), and it is unclear whether this was a re-release copy or there are other reasons for this quirk.
