Synopsis

You are walking down a huge colonnade, which is supported on each side by large, white, marble pillars. The only sounds you can hear are your own footsteps on the polished, marble floor and the thumping of your heart beating in your chest. At the end of the colonnade is a large golden door, engravings of gods and sorcerers can be just made out, glistening from the torches hanging from the ceiling high above. The door is flanked by two palace guards. As you draw nearer your heart beat increases with the thought of what fate may have in store for you this time.

After a brief meeting with the King of the Darklands you learn of your quest. You must rid our land of the evil that has befallen it. Dark forces are at work to destroy and corrupt the once good citizens of this fair and peaceful nation.

Upon your quest you must find the spell script. This has been torn into three parts by the dark forces to prevent anyone finding it. Each piece has been hidden, it’s up to you to find them. The journey will be taken alone but, when met, friends will help you if asked.

The whole future of the Darklands depends on you!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

An intriguing and very large fantasy quest. The graphics, which are pretty good for their day can be switched off. The main annnoyance is the parsimonious inventory limit. Roughly half of all my parsed commands have been based around inventory manipulation and the carrying receptacle holds very few items. At least it doesn't have an irreparable hole in it like the same object in Quondam.

For some reason the Archimedes emulator I use for all RISC OS text adventures (RPCEmu) takes up around 30 percent of the CPU. Other emulators for sundry pcs use only a fraction of this.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the most annoying parser in history. And I quote verbatim:
You can see some money.
Examine money: There are 0 gold coins!
Inv: You are carrying a leather pouch.
Open Pouch: Your attempts to open the pouch achieves (sic) nothing but wasted time!
Take money: You can't carry any more!

So you can carry one object. You cannot open this object although it is described as being useful for carrying coins. The other object there isn't really there at all because it amounts to 0.

You have to drop the pouch, take the non-existent money; put the non-existent money in the pouch while it is on the floor, then take the pouch. No prizes for guessing how easy it is to get the money out again.

Why do some people bother?
