As Part I finished, you were fleeing in your SL-MINI one-man space craft after destroying the flagship of the Connection For Destroying Earth (CFDE). As you hurtle through space, you notice that your fuel is low, so you attempt to land on a passing planet. Unfortunately, you are captured by its gravitational pull and are unable to slow down sufficiently to make a safe landing. You narrowly miss a mountain and crash into a tree.
After exploring the nearby area, you realise that you have crashed on the planet Guridium, which is ruled by the CFDE. You know that they have set up a mutator machine, which tracks down all the inhabitants and transforms them into flesh-eating monsters. There are only two guards watching over the planet, as the flesh-eating monsters form an effective deterrent to any intruders.
Your mission is now clear. You need to repair and refuel your space craft, while avoiding the guards, the flesh-eating monsters and the dinosaurs, so that you can escape from the planet.
This two-disk, illustrated adventure is written in Turbo BASIC with verb and object selection controlled by joystick rather than keyboard. It was written by Christian Schwarz (CWS Software).
Space Trouble II was published by the Atari Bit Byter Users Club (ABBUC) of West Germany, which had over 600 members and produced a regular disk magazine. The adventure was translated from an original German-language game.
The introductory text clearly states that this is a sequel, but no trace of 'Space Trouble' or 'Space Trouble I' can be found anywhere. If anyone has any information on this, please post it in a comment or on the forum.
