In the mists of time, as legends say, there existed the land of Mandoria. It was an exquisitely beautiful land where nature ruled and giants, dwarfs and man lived in perfect harmony.
In the reign of King Lothar XX the Dark Lord Kalhazzar openly staked his claim on Mandoria and through treachery claimed the lives of the king and his line.
Kalhazzar placed himself on the throne and perverted the kingdom to his own dark designs. Now 3000 years have passed and the beauty of Mandoria has been all but destroyed by the forces of evil. The only hope is you, Caldor Holford, a descendant of Prince Uldin, Lothar's youngest son, and hidden from Kalhazzar by the good and wise wizard Balan. For centuries the answer to Mandoria’s need has been sought but at last Balan has discovered a slim hope - a man or woman of noble blood must seek out the Great Orb of the 0ld Kings. Only then can Kalhazzar be overthrown. You the last true heir to the kingdom of Mandoria must undertake this quest to save the land ravaged by 3000 years of corruption.
In this adventure you play the role of Caldor Holford as he seeks to find the Orb of his ancestors. Balan is unsure of its location but suggests that you find your way to the "Questor’s Pit" and commence your search from there. As you climb into the boat that will take you to the start of the quest Balan gives you an encouraging smile that eases a little of your tension. Deep inside however you know that you will need all your wits and cunning to survive the traps that most assuredly block your path to the Orb...!!!
The game was originally published by WoW for the Amstrad and subsequently ported to the Spectrum by The Guild.
Originally a four-part graphical adventure for Amstrad produced using the Quill, it was converted using the PAW into a single-part text-only game for 128K Spectrums.

Are you sure this was written with the Quill? The fact that it needs a 128k Spectrum and expects "GET x FROM POUCH"-type commands suggest it was actually written with PAW.
Pippa, you are right. Proof is that PAW can load the game but The Quill cannot.
Old comments I know, but just to add a bit of context... the game was originally a four-part adventure for Amstrad before being converted to a single part game using the PAW for Spectrum 128K. At this point, I'm not sure what tool was used to make the original Amstrad game... it could've been The Quill for that, but I'll need to do more research to be sure.
