Scenario
The Orb of Light is a source of great power and for many years was the treasure of King Elrad.  But
Zalam, his neighbour and enemy, desired the orb and declared war on Elrad.  After many years of
fighting Elrad was killed and the orb was taken.  Zalam, not wishing to give up the orb, took refuge
in the caves.  Many warriors and travellers have set out to find the orb and to bring it back to its
rightful place, but all have failed.

Walk Through
(Start in the chamber of light in the palace of King Elrad II), E (large hall), GET SWORD, E (small
room), GET SCROLL, READ SCROLL (says that entry is easy but the obvious is sometimes overlooked),
DROP SCROLL, S (wine cellar), GET WINE, N, SW (entrance hall), S (palace gates), W (plain of Halam),
S (northwestern bank of river), GET FISH, SWIM RIVER (to southeastern bank), NE (hill), GET FLUTE, S
(rock clearing where you see a troll blocking the eastern exit), GIVE FISH (the troll swallows it in
one gulp and wanders off singing), E (small hut), GET CROSSBOW, W, S (in front of cave where you see
a dragon blocking the exit), USE SWORD (you have killed the dragon), DROP SWORD, SE (a strange force
stops you from entering the cave... a voice says remember the scroll), SAY EASY (the magical force
is lifted and the cave entrance is open), SE (empty cavern), GET SPEAR.

S (cavern of wisdom), DROP SPEAR, DROP FLUTE (for later), NE (chamber of time - note if you go down
you are stuck in time and float in an endless void), E (chamber of life), GET MACE, S (chamber of
magic), GET ROD, SW (chamber of fire), GET TORCH, NW (back to cavern of wisdom), W (serpent temple
where you see a statue of a cobra and a snake), USE TORCH (you have killed the snake), EXAMINE
STATUE (see steps leading up), U (top of statue), E (you can't squeeze through the gap), WAVE
ROD (mouth opens), E (statue's mouth), GET IRON KEY, W (be careful here and don't type D
or you fall and die), CLIMB DOWN (back to serpent temple), DROP TORCH, NW (cave), W (cavern with an
iron gate where you see a Barlog), USE MACE (you have killed the Barlog), DROP MACE, UNLOCK GATE
(using the iron key), DROP IRON KEY, S (diamond cavern), GET DIAMOND, N, E, SE, E (back to cavern of
wisdom).

GET SPEAR, GET FLUTE, SE, SE (palace entrance), GET KNIFE, E (room of pictures where you meet a
Cyclops), USE CROSSBOW (you have killed the Cyclops), DROP CROSSBOW, N (emerald room), GET EMERALD,
S, W, SW (dining hall in Zalam's palace), GET SILVER CROSS, W (guard post - note if you attack
the guard with the sword you finish up in a cell), GIVE WINE (the guard drinks it and drops down
dead as it was poison), NW (north end of great hall), S (south end of great hall where you see a
crystal cage and King Zalam), USE SPEAR (you have killed King Zalam, but there is a blinding flash),
LOOK (see King Zalam's spirit), USE SILVER CROSS (you have exorcised the spirit), PLAY FLUTE
(the sound breaks the crystal cage), LOOK (see the orb of light), GET ORB.

N, SE, E, NE, NW, NW (cavern of wisdom), N, NW, N, W (southeastern river bank), SWIM RIVER, N, E
(palace gates), N, N, W (chamber of light), OPEN CAGE, PLACE ORB IN CAGE (you have brought back the
Orb of Light to its rightful place... King Elrad II enters and knights you for your great deed...
you rise and are escorted to your own palace... people cry out "Long live the great warrior and
may he live long.")
