Scenario
As a scientist you've completed your experiment against all advice and now you find yourself on
a lonely beach with a purple sky and sea.  Even the vegetation is purple.  You will meet weird
creatures such as the Purple People Eater, a Purple Cat looking for his socks and a Purple Snake who
isn't happy to see you.  Using magic and lots of ingenuity you must find a way to return.

Walk Through
(Start on a lonely beach), INVENTORY (you are wearing a purple suit - what else!), EXAMINE SUIT,
EXAMINE SEA, E, E (rocky beach), MOVE ROCK (behind a large boulder you find a rusty machete), GET
MACHETE, EXAMINE MACHETE, W, W (back to lonely beach), CHOP VEGETATION (using the machete), S (into
field), E (fireplace), EXAMINE STONES (one is loose), GET STONE, EXAMINE STONE, E (you walk round in
circles and finish up back where you started), SW, W, N, N (back to lonely beach), W (shell beach),
EXAMINE SHELLS, GET SHELLS, E, E, E, NE (rock pools), EXAMINE POOLS, GET BUCKET (old), EXAMINE
BUCKET, GRIND SHELLS (using the rock), GET GROUND (shells - in the bucket), NE (you start to climb
but slip back), THROW GROUND (shells - that should give you some grip - don't go northeast yet
or you will be washed into the sea by a wave), DROP BUCKET, DROP STONE.

SW, W, W, W, W, GET HAT, EXAMINE HAT, WEAR HAT, S, EXAMINE PLANTS, GET PLANTS (you don't need
them), SW (to door of an odd-looking circular building), IN, EXAMINE TABLE (the word
"BAZIN" has been scratched into the table top), GET TABLE, OUT, NE, N (to where the beach
ends at a sheer cliff), GO ISLAND (you can't walk on water, even if it's purple!), WAIT
(the tide goes out), GO ISLAND, GET ROCKS, EXAMINE ROCKS (these glow and are your source of light,
although they have a limited life once removed from the island), S, E, E, E, E, NE, NE (it is safe
now that the tide is out), S (cave entrance - a large winged purple creature resembling a bat swoops
down and takes the hat off your head), S (into a narrow tunnel where the rocks glow and give light -
the winged creature is attacking again), DUCK (the creature misses and you run to the south) SW, W,
N (small cave), READ MESSAGE, S, W (you can go no further on foot but the river continues through a
hole in the wall), W (you turn the table upside down and use it as a makeshift raft), WAIT (the
current carries you onward until you become beached).

S (into a shimmering cavern - don't try to take the table with you as it doesn't fit),
HELP (use magic), SAY BAZIN (as you say the magic word a door appears in the west wall and you walk
through into a dark tunnel), SW, GET WAND, EXAMINE WAND (has magical powers), SE (if you catch a
glimpse of a purple monster don't worry as he won't attack so long as you have light), S,
E, E, SE (bottom of hill), GET HERBS (purple), U (a door is set into the hillside here), OPEN DOOR
(it can't be opened from this side - don't continue up the hill yet as you must return
through the tunnels while you still have light, before the rocks dull), D, NW (into the tunnels
again), W, N, NE, N, N (rockface).

DROP WAND, EXAMINE ROCKFACE (you find some green herbs growing in a crack - about now the rocks
begin to dim and are useless so you throw them away), GET HERBS, EXAMINE HERBS (when mixed they have
healing properties), MIX HERBS, INVENTORY (you now have some mixed green and purple herbs), E, E, SE
(the Purple People Eater is here but if you don't hang around he won't bother you), E, N
(thorny path - as you push past some bushes you prick yourself on a thorn), NE, NE (a tree with
branches hanging over the river is here), EXAMINE BRANCHES, GET ROPE, EXAMINE ROPE, SW, SW, S, E, E,
E (by a fast flowing river - don't go east as you will be swept away by the current), TIE ROPE
(to the tree stump), E (you hold onto the rope as you cross the river), W (you can't get back
across the river).

SE, IN (the large imposing building), TALK ANIMAL (he says he is sick and needs the plant that grows
amongst the rocks to make him well), OUT (about now you should be feeling the effects of the thorn
by feeling dizzy and soon will collapse if you don't do something), EAT HERBS (after eating the
mixed herbs you feel better), DROP HERBS, S, S, SE (overgrown bushes block the way east), CHOP
BUSHES (using the machete), DROP MACHETE, ENTER HOLE (to bottom of a steep flight of steps), U, U
(leave the enormous purple cat for now), N, N (into dense forest), NE, GET BRANCH (it is very heavy
- note you can't be carrying anything else and after three moves the branch becomes too heavy
and you drop it - when this occurs you must REST then GET BRANCH again), SW (there is a random
element here when going south and 60% of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then
just go southeast and try again - 40% of the time you will go to the trail), S (keep trying until
you finish up at the trail leading into the forest), S, D, D, W, NW, N, N, NW (by river), PUT BRANCH
(this creates a log bridge), CROSS BRIDGE.

UNTIE ROPE, GET ROPE, W, W, W, W, NW, N (east of a tall tower), GET POLE (long metal pole), S, SE,
E, E, E, S (dead end), GET HOOK, N, E, CROSS BRIDGE, SE, S, S, SE, ENTER HOLE, E (dead end - ignore
the purple stone - it's a red herring), EXAMINE PIT (there are metal rungs leading down but
they don't look too strong), CLIMB RUNGS (down into the pit - some timber here is shoring-up
the wall), EXAMINE TIMBER (solid and strong), PUT POLE (you carefully put the pole in place of the
piece of timber), GET TIMBER (it's very heavy and you must drop everything else before you can
pick it up), TIE HOOK, INVENTORY (you now have a rope with a hook tied to it), THROW ROPE (it
catches on the rim of the pit), GET TIMBER, EXAMINE RUNGS (not too strong), CLIMB RUNGS (they break
and deposit you in a heap on the floor), CLIMB ROPE (back to dead end).

W, U, U, N, N (into forest), N, N, NE, E (there is a random element here when going northeast and
60% of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then just go north then east and try
again - 40% of the time you will go to the lightly wooded area), NE (keep trying until you finish up
at the lightly wooded area), NW (path in the mountains - there is a gap in the path where there has
been a rockslide), PUT TIMBER (it spans the gap - note if you try to use the log it wobbles and you
fall off), CROSS TIMBER (a snake is here basking in the sun but leave it alone for now), D, SE, SE
(into forest), S, SW (there is a random element here when going south and 60% of the time you will
go to edge of forest and you should then just go southeast and try again - 40% of the time you will
go to the trail), S (keep trying until you finish up at the trail leading into the forest), S, D, D,
W, NW, N, N, GET HERBS, NW, CROSS BRIDGE, W, W, W, N (again you are pricked by the thorn), NE, EAT
HERBS (you feel better), NE, N, U (to rocks), EXAMINE LEDGE (you can't reach), CLIMB ROCK,
EXAMINE LEDGE (a strange plant is growing here), PICK FLOWER, EXAMINE FLOWER, D (you climb down), D,
S, SW, SW (you are pricked again by that thorn), S, EAT HERBS, E, E, E, CROSS BRIDGE, SE, IN (the
large imposing building), GIVE PLANT (he thanks you for the plant and retires to a back room to
prepare the medicine), OUT.

one of them), GET SHOVEL, EXAMINE SHOVEL, SE, SW (there is a random element here when going south
and 60% of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then just go southeast and try
again - 40% of the time you will go to the trail), S (keep trying until you finish up at the trail
leading into the forest), S, D, D, W, NW, N, N, IN (the imposing building - he should have returned
by now), TALK ANIMAL (Zenon is prepared to help you but he wants his six rings, one for each hand...
he gives you a spell book), EXAMINE BOOK, READ BOOK (it says "Wave the wand to cast or remove a
spell from within the depths, focus the lens, wave again and say the word"... on the bottom of
the page "PAZE", "YING" and "STAZ" are written), OUT, DROP BOOK, NW,
CROSS BRIDGE.

W, W, W, DROP SHOVEL, N (pricked by thorn again), NE, EAT HERBS, NE, E, N, N, N (to where the path
starts to climb), GET STICK, W, W (a large bird is circling overhead and will randomly carry you
into the forest), WAIT (if necessary until it swoops down, carries you off and deposits you in the
forest), NE, E (there is a random element here when going northeast and 60% of the time you will go
to edge of forest and you should then just go north then east and try again - 40% of the time you
will go to the lightly wooded area), NE (keep trying until you finish up at the lightly wooded
area), NW, U (a purple snake is basking in the sun at the side of the path - don't be tempted
to examine it or go further up as it will bite you), HIT SNAKE (using the stick), DROP STICK,
EXAMINE SNAKE (it's dead), MOVE SNAKE (you find a large key with the number 55 on it), GET KEY,
D, SE, SE (into forest), N, GET JAR, SE, S (there is a random element here when going south and 60%
of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then just go southeast and try again - 40%
of the time you will go to the trail), S (keep trying until you finish up at the trail leading into
the forest), S, D (stone steps), EXAMINE STEPS (see a ring caught between the steps), GET RING,

(nothing in there), DIG (part of the hillside gives way and you see a tunnel leading into the
hillside), DROP SHOVEL, ENTER TUNNEL (there is a door to the south), EXAMINE DOOR (has the number 55
on it), UNLOCK DOOR, DROP KEY, ENTER DOOR (you find yourself part way up a hill), U (near top of
hill), EXAMINE BUSHES (you find a fishing rod which was hidden behind one of them), GET ROD
(fishing), U (top of hill), JUMP LEDGE (you jump to the ledge but don't jump again or you die),
GET RING, EXAMINE RING, EXAMINE BUSH (hidden under the bush is a rope ladder), LOWER LADDER (it
hangs over the edge), EXAMINE LADDER, CLIMB LADDER (into the valley below), IN (dwelling), GET NET,
HELP (use magic), WAVE WAND (there is a flash), SAY MIZEN (you find you have been magically
transported to the bottom of the hill), U, ENTER DOOR, N (back to trail).

going northeast and 60% of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then just go north
then east and try again - 40% of the time you will go to the lightly wooded area), NE (keep trying
until you finish up at the lightly wooded area), NW, U, U (to high in the mountains), SW (steep path
- a weird goat like animal is here), EXAMINE GOAT, SW (the goat attacks and you run high into the
mountains), SW (back to where the goat like creature is), THROW FISH (the goat grabs it and runs
off), DROP NET, SW (bottom of slope), E (large depression), DIG (you hit something - a lens), GET
LENS (note don't drop this as it smashes if you do), EXAMINE LENS (has magical powers), DROP
SHOVEL, W, S, S, CROSS BRIDGE.

W, W, W, GET JAR, S (dead end), GET FLY (in the jar), N, GET WAND, E, E, E, CROSS BRIDGE, SE, S (in
front of a two-storey building), OPEN DOOR (it won't budge), SMASH DOOR (you hurt your hand),
HELP (use magic), WAVE WAND (there's a flash), FOCUS LENS, WAVE WAND (flash), SAY YING (there
is a flash, the door disappears and you walk through), U (the staircase to cobweb room), EXAMINE
COBWEB (caught in the web is a shiny ring with a large purple spider guarding it), GET RING (the
large vicious purple spider has other ideas), RELEASE FLY (the spider chases it), DROP JAR (empty),
GET RING, EXAMINE RING, D, OUT, N, IN (the imposing building), GIVE RING (four rings found), OUT,
NW, CROSS BRIDGE.

W, W, W, W, NW, GET ROD (fishing), SE, E, E, E (babbling brook), EXAMINE WATER (you see an old boot
and a ring at the bottom of the brook), GET RING (you can't reach), FISH (using the rod - you
catch the old boot which you should leave as it is a red herring), FISH (this time you catch the
ring), GET RING, EXAMINE RING, DROP ROD, E, CROSS BRIDGE, SE, IN (to imposing building), GIVE RING
(five rings found), OUT, NW, CROSS BRIDGE.

W, W, W, W, NW, N (by tall tower - there doesn't appear to be any way in), HELP (use magic),
WAVE WAND (flash), FOCUS LENS, WAVE WAND (flash), SAY STAZ (there is a flash... suddenly a door
appears and you walk through), GET SOCKS (white), U (tower room), LOOK WINDOW (you see something
shiny on a cliff top path), D, OUT, S, SE, E, GET HERBS, N (pricked again by the thorn), NE, EAT
HERBS, DROP HERBS, NE, N, U, W, N (it's a good idea to save the game here as the next bit is
random), N (cliff top path - if the bird takes you off to the forest before you have a chance to get
the ring just restore your saved position and try again), GET RING, WAIT (until the bird takes you
into the forest, if it hasn't already), S, SE (there is a random element here when going south
and 60% of the time you will go to edge of forest and you should then just go southeast and try
again - 40% of the time you will go to the trail), S (keep trying until you finish up at the trail
leading into the forest), S, D, D, W, NW, N, N, IN (the imposing building), GIVE RING (Zenon thanks
you and gives you a potion... he tells you to take it to a special place high in the mountains, wear

into the crack), DROP WAND, DROP LENS (it smashes but you don't need it anymore anyway), GET
