Notes
1. Food is scattered around randomly.  When you see some just GET FOOD.  This should be eaten as
required to keep your strength up, also it can be given to other characters to increase your score
(see note 9).  It is advisable to keep your strength above 30 and don't fight if it is below
this level.
2. You will randomly meet the thief fairly early on in the game.  When you do KILL THIEF (you should
win but he will only hang around if you are carrying something he wants).  Killing the thief adds to
your score and prevents him taking things.  The thief will only appear once, so if you haven't
anything he wants you will miss the opportunity for additional points.
3. When you meet the thug who appears randomly, KILL THUG to add to your score.  If you strength is
low leave the location immediately.
4. Red herrings - brick and rock.
5. Avoid the creature.
6. When you meet the friendly wandering wizard who appears randomly, SPEAK TO WIZARD and he will
tell you to keep away from evil wizards.
7. The chest and the ring are placed randomly.  When you find the ring GET RING, WEAR RING (it
sticks to your finger and you can never remove it, but your energy will now never sink below 30%).
8. When you fight you will randomly see a dusty skeleton, a shiny skeleton or a decomposing body.
9. Give items to characters in the game to increase your score by two points.  Food will do.  You
can give the same character more than one item.
10. If your strength is getting low and you haven't any food handy visit the blue tower, which
will restore your strength to 100% or SMOKE PIPE if you have it.  The pipe can be smoked as many
times as necessary.

(Start at the beautiful wooden gate to the small village), S, E (stone house), SPEAK TO HERMIT (he
tells you that the king can help you), E, E, N, N, N (king's private quarters), GET SWORD, N
(throne room), SPEAK TO KING (he tells you that the crystal is to the south), N (garden), SPEAK TO
GARDENER (he tells you that the crystal is hidden in a chest), W, S, S (cupboard), GET LAMP, SPEAK
TO CHEF (he ignores you), KILL CHEF (you win and add to your score), N, N (ancient room - note
don't go west as there is no way out), E (dark room), LIGHT LAMP.

W, S, E, E (garden), S, S, S, W (blue tower - this magical place restores your strength to maximum),
E, N, N, W (kitchen), SPEAK TO COOK (he says hello), KILL COOK (you win), W, N, W, S, S (vegetable
garden), SPEAK TO HANDYMAN (he tells you that his mate the gardener may be of some help), KILL
HANDYMAN (you win), S (hut), E (field), LOOK (you see a pig but cannot get it or do anything else
with it), E (blue tower - full strength again), E, S, W (large cottage), SPEAK TO YOUNG MAN (he
tells you that he has no idea what you are talking about and to leave him alone), W (thatched
cottage), GET DAGGER, W, N (hut), SPEAK TO WITCH (she tells you tat the handyman may help you), KILL
WITCH (you win), E, E (back to blue tower and full strength).

E, S, S, S, S (sand), SPEAK TO LITTLE BOY (he runs away calling for his mother), N, W (stony path -
ignore the rock), W, W (church), SPEAK TO VICAR (he tells you there is a lovely place behind a
locked gate which is over the mountain), W (graveyard - note in this location or the next two the
gravedigger will step out behind you), SPEAK TO GRAVEDIGGER (he befriends you and tells you about
the crystal and the lever), S (gravedigger's house), GET SPADE (next time you see the
gravedigger give him the spade for two points).

S, W (bridge where you meet a young girl), SPEAK TO YOUNG GIRL (sometimes she will give you the
ring, if she does get it and wear it), E, S, E, E, E (secret hidden house - sometimes the ring is
here, if it is get and wear it - see note above), SPEAK TO OLD HAG (she tells you that you will find
the ring useful), S, S (a cauldron of liquid is here which is too heavy for you to get, note if you
drink the liquid you are transported to the secret hidden house), S, E (cellar), GET KNIFE, W, W, W,
S, W (cave), GET POTION (green), E, E, E (small warm cavern), READ BOOK (tells about he magical
dagger), S (cave), GET PIPE, SMOKE PIPE (this increases your strength and can be done more than
once).

N, W, W, N, N, E, N, W, W, N, N, W (bridge), SPEAK TO YOUNG GIRL, EAT FOOD, KILL GIRL (using dagger
- she topples over the bridge and you are transported to the chest which is randomly placed), OPEN
CHEST (valuables roll onto the floor), GET CRYSTAL (now you must make your way to the throne room),
SPEAK TO KING (he tells you that you have the necessary object), PUT CRYSTAL (in the niche - you
hear a humming sound and the crystal is blanketed by a glow), PULL LEVER (a panel slides across
revealing a large storeplace in which is a large key), GET KEY.

DRINK POTION (you are transported to the hidden house), S, S, S, W, W, S, E, E, S, S, S, W, S, E, E,
S, W, W, S (locked gate), UNLOCK GATE (using key - it swings open giving you access to the beautiful
countryside), S, S (field), GET LYRE, W, SPEAK TO MAD POET (he mutters lines of poetry), GIVE LYRE
TO POET (it is accepted with a smile), E, E, E, S, W, S, W, W (castle gatehouse), SPEAK TO OLD WOMAN
(she is deaf), GIVE FOOD TO OLD WOMAN, E, S, S, S, S.

E (wizard's room), GET CROSSBOW (if the wizard isn't here go for a walk and try again,
SPEAK TO WIZARD (he says he knows who you are and that you want to get home... he says he can help
you), SPEAK TO WIZARD (he tells you that you must help him before he helps you), SPEAK TO WIZARD (he
wants you to help him kill the King of Fidicen so that he may be king, then he will help you get
home), SPEAK TO WIZARD (do you agree to help?), Y (he says to go with him to the palace... you are
in the palace courtyard), E, S (throne room where you should meet King Fidicen, if not go south...
the king says that there is something wrong and plotters wish to kill him... he asks will you help
him?), Y (the wizard appears, the guards enter, the hag from the hidden house uses her magic to send
the wizard into his own deep dungeon, the king is thankful and asks the hag to grant you one wish -
to get home).
