THE GRYPHON'S PEARL

(Start in your sleeping chamber), INVENTORY (you are carrying a staff, gold piece, a bag of coins,
herbs and a candy bar), EXAMINE STAFF, DROP STAFF, EXAMINE GOLD PIECE, EXAMINE CANDY BAR, EAT CANDY
BAR (there is no use for it anyway), EXAMINE HERBS (they are dried healing herbs), DROP HERBS,
EXAMINE CABINET, OPEN CABINET, EXAMINE CABINET (you find sweet grass, tana spice, cloth and a glass
bottle), GET GRASS, EXAMINE GRASS (four footed beasts enjoy it), GET CLOTH, EXAMINE CLOTH (it's
a large heavy cloth), EXAMINE BOTTLE (don't drink it - leave the spices until later, also note
that the game crashes if you try to examine the spices), EXAMINE BED.

N, N (queen's chamber - Didi whispers "Find Antetime the Prophet"), S, S, S, E (into
the merchant's temple), E, N, EXAMINE MERCHANT, COUNT COINS (you have 17 gold pieces), SHOW
MONEY (to the merchant who points to a price list hanging on the wall), READ PRICE LIST, BUY
SWANSONG (the song is burned into your memory), DROP COINS, S, W, W (forest), N, N, GET FLOWER,
EXAMINE FLOWER (it's a wild rose), SMELL FLOWER, DROP FLOWER (a red herring), N, W (lake
shore), SING SWANSONG (a swan glides towards you and you climb on it's back... the swan
transports you across the lake), W (hut where a man speaks to you and details your quest... he gives
you a monocle), EXAMINE MONOCLE (small and well made), E (you must give a tribute before you leave),
GIVE GOLD PIECE (he says to return to him when you have secured the pearl), E, WEAR MONOCLE, SING
SWANSONG (to cross the lake), E.

S, S, S, E (merchant's temple), E, E (wearing the monocle gives you temporary undersight and
you notice a door in the east wall), E (dusty room), E, N, W (bright room), OPEN BOTTLE, POUR LIQUID
ON CASE (the plastic melts revealing a very bright sundisk), E (you can't find your way out
because of the bright light), DROP BOTTLE, GET SUNDISK, PUT CLOTH ON SUNDISK (it dims the light), E,
S (paneled room), EXAMINE DOOR (it has no handle, a sign says gifts accepted and you see a unicorn
peering at you from the other side of the door), GIVE GRASS (you place your offering in front of the
door), WAIT, WAIT, WAIT (until the unicorn pokes her head through the door and begins to eat the
grass), E (gateway), E (into space).

N, E, N, W (gryphon's lair), EXAMINE GRYPHON (has a crown on his head), UNCOVER SUNDISK
(revealing it's blinding light - the gryphon rages, he is unable to see), GET PEARL (the
blinded gryphon doesn't see you take the pearl), COVER SUNDISK WITH CLOTH, E (space - note
don't hang around now or you will be caught), S, W, S, E (back to gateway), OPEN DOOR, W
(paneled room).

W, W, W, W, W (forest), N, N, N, W (lake shore), SING SWANSONG (to cross the lake), W (hut), GIVE
PEARL (to the prophet - he says you must enter the dreamstate, you will need the spices and must
sleep in the open), E, SING SWANSONG (to cross the lake), E, E, S (sleeping chamber), GET SPICE, N,
W, S, S, S, S (forest clearing), SNIFF SPICE (you begin to feel drowsy), LAY DOWN (on a hard rock
but it is strangely comfortable), SLEEP (you enter the dreamstate and meet Kas who says the pearl
must be broken on the king's throne and the powder mixed with the queen's tears... prayers
must be offered to the proper gods... you awaken), STAND UP, N, N, N, N, W, SING SWANSONG (to cross
the lake), W (hut - you tell him of your dreamstate but he cannot help you), E, SING SWANSONG (to
cross the lake), E.

S, S, S, U (cliff), GET ROCK, D, N, N, E, E, S (kitchen), GET FLASK, EXAMINE FLASK (it's a very
tiny yellow container), EXAMINE MAID, MAID OPEN DOOR (she opens the door in the hallway), E (grand
throne room), EXAMINE PAINTING, PUT PEARL ON THRONE, SMASH PEARL WITH ROCK (it is crushes into a
fine powder), N, W, S (sleeping chamber), GET HERBS, THINK ABOUT GODS (you will randomly get Texra,
Eiloudi, Nevse, Xelca, Mourere, Fadkaei, Borogg, Figr and Matr), N, N (queen's chamber),
SPRINKLE HERBS ON DIDI (they seem to relieve some of her distress), PRAY TO ..............
(whichever god you thought about - as you finish your prayer Didi stirs and sobs), CATCH TEARS IN
FLASK, EXAMINE FLASK (it contains tears of sorrow).

S, E, E (grand throne room), MIX TEARS (the pearl and tears combine turning sorrow and entrapment
into a tangible item - a thick paste covers a bit of the throne), W, W, N (queen's chamber),
DIDI FOLLOW ME (she agrees), S, E, E (back to grand throne room), DIDI SIT THRONE, PRAY TO SELVOS
(you complete the ritual and a brilliant glow surrounds the king's throne and Kas appears... he
offers his hand to Didi... you eventually receive your reward and you shall be Realm Cleric for the
rest of your days.
