MCMURPHY'S MANSION

Scenario
Your demented uncle McMurphy has left you a $10,000,000 inheritance.  All you have to do it find it.
 Your uncle McMurphy was a most unusual man.  His investments yielded him a great fortune and much
time to devote to his passion for games of all types.  It was his interest in these diversions that
led to the conditions of his will.  McMurphy felt that any heir worthy of inheriting his estate must
PROVE that he is worthy.  Beginning with only a small clue you must find your fortune hidden
somewhere in the mansion grounds.

Notes
* At some point McBee with give you a gold bar for doing well.
* The clues must be found in order.
* Sometimes I found directions took me to odd places, such as the East Lawn and Attic, when they
shouldn't.
* When in the attic, if your candle goes out, simply re-light it.

Walk Through
(Start in your bedroom carrying a small brass key), EXAMINE KEY, EXAMINE DRESSER, GET BOX, EXAMINE
BOX, UNLOCK BOX (contains a gold bar and a gold coin), GET GOLD BAR, EXAMINE GOLD BAR, GET COIN,
EXAMINE COIN, DROP BOX, DROP BRASS KEY, N (hall), N (master bedroom), EXAMINE TABLE (drawer is
open), LOOK IN DRAWER, GET DIARY, EXAMINE DIARY, READ DIARY (boring!), S, E, E (blue bedroom), LOOK
UNDER BED (find a gold bar which is added to your inventory), W, D (foyer), EXAMINE CLOCK, SET CLOCK
TO 7 (click, the clock door opens), LOOK IN CLOCK (a gold bar is stuck in there), GET GOLD BAR,
EXAMINE CURIOS (see a weird urn), EXAMINE URN, LOOK IN URN (see gold bar), GET GOLD BAR, E (study),
EXAMINE BOOKS (some are missing), EXAMINE CABINET (locked - ignore it), EXAMINE GLOBE, TURN GLOBE,
EXAMINE GLOBE, TURN GLOBE, EXAMINE GLOBE (until this part is more worn than the rest and is bumpy),
PRESS BUMP (a small trap door in the globe opens and a gold bar falls out), GET GOLD BAR.

W, W (living room), EXAMINE SOFA, LOOK ON TABLE, GET MATCHES, EXAMINE EMBLEM (underneath is a
banner), PUSH BANNER (can now see behind it), LOOK BEHIND BANNER (a gold bar is added to your
inventory), EXAMINE MIRROR, LOOK IN MIRROR (note the painting), EXAMINE PAINTING (of Uncle McMurphy
- note the signature in the corner), EXAMINE SIGNATURE (backwards), EXAMINE SIGNATURE IN MIRROR
(reads "Turn the Urn"), E (foyer), TURN URN (hear a strange sliding noise in the living
room), W (living room where the paining has moved to one side revealing a safe but you can't
open it yet).

N, E (kitchen), LOOK IN DRAWER, GET CANDLE, EXAMINE CANDLE, W, S, E, U (top of stairs), DROP CANDLE,
DROP MATCHES, DROP DIARY (for later), D, W, W, N, E, N (workshop), EXAMINE TOOLS, GET SHOVEL, GET
HAMMER, GET BOARD, S, W, S, E, E (foyer), U, W, N (master bedroom), OPEN NORTH WINDOW, N (ledge),
DROP BOARD (it falls across the gap), E (the board falls and you are on a ledge outside a locked
room), S (gameroom), EXAMINE MACHINE, LOOK BEHIND MACHINE (see power cord), PUT CORD IN OUTLET (the
curtain inside the glass case draws revealing a figure holding a crystal ball), EXAMINE PLATE,
INSERT COIN IN SLOT (a small card appears), GET CARD, EXAMINE CARD (clue 1 - translates to
"Look in Sofa"), LOOK UNDER TABLE (there is a strange drawing of an ace of spades with a
small shamrock in the lower right corner - a clue), OPEN DOOR, S (east end of hallway), 

D, W (living room), LOOK IN SOFA (you have solved clue 1 and are rewarded with a coin), E (foyer),
U, N (gameroom), PUT COIN IN SLOT, GET CARD, EXAMINE CARD (clue 2 - next word is nest), N (ledge),
LOOK IN NEST (too far above you), FEEL IN NEST (you have solved clue 2 and are rewarded with a
coin), GET COIN, FEEL IN NEST (this time you find a gold bar), GET GOLD BAR, S (gameroom), PUT COIN
IN SLOT, GET CARD, EXAMINE CARD (clue 3 - need a dictionary for this one), S, D (foyer), S (front
porch), S, S (rose garden), LOOK UNDER FLOWERS (you have solved clue 3 and are rewarded with a
coin), N, N, N (foyer), U, N (gameroom), PUT COIN IN SLOT, GET CARD, EXAMINE CARD (clue 4 - this
one's tougher), EXAMINE TABLE, GET CUBE, EXAMINE CUBE, TURN CUBE (keep typing TURN CUBE until
one side is blue - may take a while), S, D (foyer), W, N, E (kitchen), TURN ON WATER (sink fills
with water), PUT CUBE IN SINK (the cube falls apart revealing a coin), W, S, E (foyer), U, N
(gameroom), PUT COIN IN SLOT, GET CARD, EXAMINE CARD (Master Clue #1 - R=38), DROP CARD, S, D
(foyer).

S, S, S (rose garden), DIG (using shovel), DIG, DIG, DIG (uncover a gold bar which is added to your
inventory), DROP SHOVEL, S, S (entrance gates), W (front lawn), CLIMB TREE (in amongst the gold
berries you see a gold bar), SHAKE TREE, SHAKE TREE (the gold bar falls to the ground), D, GET GOLD
BAR, E, E, E (southeastern corner), EXAMINE ROCK, LOOK UNDER ROCK (find a piece of paper), GET
PAPER, EXAMINE PAPER (Master Clue #2 - R=61), DROP PAPER, N, W, W, N, N (foyer), U, GET MATCHES, GET
CANDLE, W (west end of hallway), EXAMINE HUTCH, MOVE HUTCH, W (base of cramped stairway), LIGHT
CANDLE (with matches - note when this goes out simply re-light it), U (storage room where footprints
lead east), E, EXAMINE TRUNK, EXAMINE PADLOCK (rusty), HIT PADLOCK WITH HAMMER (breaks open), OPEN
TRUNK, LOOK IN TRUNK (see a bible, book and gold bar), GET GOLD BAR, DROP HAMMER, GET BIBLE, GET
BOOK, W, D, E, E (top of stairs), READ BIBLE, GET DIARY, READ ON 3-11 IN DIARY (11th March in the
bible - mentions a special hiding place under the board), DROP DIARY, W, W, U (storage room), MOVE
BOARDS (reveal a gold bar which is added to your inventory), D (about now McBee appears, now that
you have found all the gold bars, and gives you Master Clue #3 L=7), E (west end of hallway), DROP
MATCHES (note don't drop the lit candle or the mansion will catch on fire and it only goes out
while in the storeroom).

E, D (foyer), W (living room), EXAMINE SAFE (has a large knob with numbers on it), TURN KNOB RIGHT
TO 38, TURN KNOB LEFT TO 7, TURN KNOB RIGHT TO 61 (safe opened), LOOK IN SAFE (empty), LOOK (McBee
appears who pulls off a wig and you realise he is really your Uncle McMurphy... he hands you the
fortune and the mansion keys and welcomes you to the McMurphy clan).

And remember now
NO MORE WORK!    SLEEP TILL NOON!
