EXAMINE MOUND (a time capsule), EXAMINE LUMP (it's a button), PRESS BUTTON (it opens to reveal
a dagger, suit of armour, tin helmet, pair of gauntlets and some medieval coins), GET ARMOUR AND
DAGGER, GET GAUNTLETS AND HELMET (leave the coins), WEAR ARMOUR AND GAUNTLETS, NE (wooded valley -
there's been an avalanche here), DIG SNOW WITH HELMET, DIG SNOW WITH HELMET (you find the
corpse of the field agent and take his cloak), DIG SNOW WITH HELMET (you find his boots and a
diary), WEAR BOOTS, READ DIARY, DROP DIARY.

SW, NW (narrow winding valley where a serpent blocks the entrance to a cave). EXAMINE SERPENT (a

let you pass), THROW DAGGER AT MASTODON (it flees south stampeding the others), S (into a coniferous
forest), EXAMINE TREES, GET BRANCH.

N, N, E (by crevasse), EXAMINE CREVASSE, EXAMINE BRANCH, PUT BRANCH ACROSS CREVASSE, GET VINE, TIE
VINE TO BRANCH (you lower it into the crevasse), D (ice cave), HIT ICICLE WITH BOULDER (it breaks
and you catch it), DROP BOULDER, U, UNTIE VINE. GET ALL (wine, bread, cloak and soap), E (across the
log bridge), SE, E (large cave - a bear rushes you), THROW CLOAK OVER BEAR (you temporarily blind
it), KILL BEAR WITH ICICLE. DROP ICICLE, DROP WINE AND VINE, EXAMINE BEAR, SKIN BEAR WITH FLINT, GET
SKIN, REMOVE TEETH WITH FLINT, EXAMINE BEAR, GET TEETH, CUT MEAT THEN GET IT.

W, NW, NE, N (frozen lake - note you cannot cross the lake without wearing boots and the weight of
your armour causes the ice, to crack so when you return you must NOT be wearing the armour), N, E, N
(cavemen's graveyard), DROP CARCASS AND BREAD, EXAMINE GRAVES, EXAMINE ROCKS, MOVE ROCKS (you
expose a corpse). EXAMINE CORPSE (you find a filthy ceremonial skullcap and a length of deergut),
GET SKULLCAP (note you must be wearing the gauntlets), EXAMINE SKULLCAP (very dirty), WASH SKULLCAP
WITH SOAP (and melted snow), WEAR SKULLCAP, GET DEERGUT, MAKE NECKLACE (using the flint, deergut and
teeth), WEAR NECKLACE, S, W, NW (you walk towards the hunting party and one throws a spear at you,
but the armour protects you), GIVE SKIN TO HUNTERS (they give you some furs in exchange), REMOVE
ARMOUR THEN DROP IT, WEAR FURS.

SE, E, N (back to graveyard), GET ALL (carcass and bread), FEED WOLVES WITH MEAT (they drag the
carcass back to the cave and lose interest in you), S (into the cave - the wolves are asleep), NE
(smoke filled cave). EXAMINE BRANCHES (you find a torch underneath), EXAMINE PAINTINGS, SW, LIGHT
TORCH AT FIRE, N, W, S, S, SW, SE, E (large cave), GET VINE AND WINE, W, NW, NE, N, N, E, S, SW
(narrow passage), S (small cold cave - must have torch), EXAMINE HIDES (you see a large black rat),
FEED RAT WITH BREAD (this slows him down), KILL RAT WITH FLINT (you pick it up).

N, NE, E, S (large cavern - note you must be wearing furs, skullcap and necklace and have mud on
your face), WAIT (until the ceremony finishes and most of the cavemen leave, leaving just one
guard), EXAMINE GUARD (he's strong but stupid), GIVE WINE TO GUARD (he leaves his post), E
(foot of idol), U (statue head), EXAMINE HEAD (see a horn), TIE VINE TO HORN, CLIMB VINE (you are
looking into the face of the statue), EXAMINE FACE (has a solitary eye), GET EYE, U (the vine), D,
W, N, W (the wolves have woken up), FEED WOLVES WITH RAT (they fight over it), W, N, W, S, S, SW, W
(across the log bridge), W (foot of glacier), TELEPORT (back to time bubble), DROP EYE (you have now
collected one shard).

14TH CENTURY
Notes
1. The drunken sailor goes away after you visit the beacon. He returns if you enter the church.
2. To find drainage tunnel down from the harbour you need to teleport away then return so that the
tide is out.
3. Don't go to the inn carrying the cleaver and pot or you'll lose them.

(dilapidated stone building), EXAMINE SKELETON, EXAMINE DEBRIS (find a gold coin), OUT, NE, NE
(outskirts of a small village), N, N (church), W (altar), PRAY, GET CANDLE (the priest allows you to
take the candle because he saw you praying), E, S, S, E, N (tavern taproom), TALK TO LANDLORD, BUY
WINE WITH COIN (you share the wine with the landlord and keep the empty bottle), N (back into the
tavern), E (kitchen), EXAMINE FIREPLACE. LIGHT CANDLE AT FIRE, EXAMINE UTENSILS (you take a cooking
pot and a meat cleaver), W (the landlord won't let you leave with the items you've taken).
HIT DOOR WITH POT (you are thrown out to the main street of the village, but still retain the pot
and cleaver), EXAMINE PUMP (a time capsule), PULL HANDLE (the door opens to reveal a gas mask: and
skinsuit), GET MASK AND SKINSUIT, WEAR MASK AND SKINSUIT, EXAMINE MASK, EXAMINE SKINSUIT.

PRIEST'S EARS (while he is dozing). E, U (bell tower), CUT ROPE WITH CLEAVER (in doing so you
set the bells ringing but the priest doesn't stop you because he can't hear), D, GET ROPE,
W, D (vault), TURN SCONCE 8 CLOCKWISE (a section of the stone wall slides open to reveal a passage),
S (tunnel - to the east has been blocked by soil), DIG SOIL (using the cooking pot as an improvised

outskirts), DROP BARREL.

E, E, NE (rocky beach), CUT FISHING NET WITH CLEAVER (you get the net), SW, SE (headland), EXAMINE
BEACON (contains oil), FILL BOTTLE WITH OIL, NW, W, W, GET BARREL, SW, SW (outside stone building),
EXAMINE WELL (the rope and bucket are missing), TIE ROPE TO HANDLE, D (bottom of well), EXAMINE
CHUTE (blocked by mud), DIG MUD WITH POT (you clear the way but the chute has a weak roof), PUT
BARREL IN CHUTE (it supports the roof but now you cannot pass), CHOP BARREL WITH CLEAVER (you chop
the top and bottom and can now make your way through), NE (cavern), EXAMINE CHANNEL (it's
blocked by boulders), MOVE BOULDER (the water goes down revealing a tunnel to the north, but a rat
appears and you can't deal with it yet), SW (you climb back up the well).

(harbour), D (you are waist deep in mud - you see the drainage tunnel), EXAMINE TUNNEL, EXAMINE
GRILLE (the hinges are rusted), OIL HINGES (you will now be able to go west later). U, W (main
street), DROP POT AND CLEAVER (don't enter the inn carrying them), N, E (kitchen), LIGHT CANDLE
AT FIRE, W, S, GET POT AND CLEAVER, W (the soldier is not here but if you enter the church he will
come back), N, N, S, S (the drunken soldier is here), EMPTY BOTTLE (of oil), ATTACK SOLDIER (he
rushes towards you and slips an the oil, knocking himself out), GET MACE AND HOOK.

E, E, D, W (through the iron grille into the drainage tunnel), W, N, N (there is a nauseating
stench), EXAMINE STENCH (it is emanating from the western wall), EXAMINE WALL (constructed at a
later date to other walls), HIT WALL WITH MACE (you smash a hole in the wall), WAIT (for the air to
clear), W through the gap into a sewer - ignore the second grille as it won't open), S, S (into
a drainage tunnel - note the west tunnel is flooded), W (you use the iron hook to pull yourself
along in the water - you are underwater and short of air). BREATHE FROM BOTTLE (you get enough air
to continue), W (you are back to where the rat is - if he bites you inject self), PUT NET IN
SUBMERGED TUNNEL (so that the rat can't escape), KILL RAT WITH MACE, CUT RAT WITH CLEAVER

19th CENTURY
(From the time bubble). W (into 19th Century on a sandbank), INVENTORY (you are wearing a bracelet),
EXAMINE BRACELET, E, E (jungle), S, S (golden beach), IN (straw hut), GET LAMP AND MATCH, EXAMINE
LAMP, OUT, N, N, N, NE (shoreline), EXAMINE SEA (you notice a dead fish), GET FISH, NE, S, SW (lower
slopes of volcano), EXAMINE STATUE (a time capsule), EXAMINE NOSE (a disguised button), PRESS BUTTON
(reveals a stone axe and a deerskin), GET AXE THEN EXAMINE IT, EXAMINE DEERSKIN (leave it though as
it is a red herring), NE, SE, W (dense jungle), DROP FISH (which attracts the insects away from the
berries), GET BERRIES THEN EXAMINE THEM.

W, N, N, E (overgrown path), CUT FOLIAGE WITH AXE (you don't achieve much), CUT FOLIAGE WITH
AXE (you eventually clear a way through, blunting the axe in the process, which you throw away), E
(beside a freshwater pool), EXAMINE POOL, PUT BERRIES IN POOL (it turns a milky white colour and the
water is now poisonous). W, WAIT, E (back to pool - a pig has drunk the water and died), GET PIG, W,
S, E (lower slopes of volcano), GET LEAVES, S (barren lower slopes), EXAMINE CLIFF, EXAMINE VINES
(you discover a tunnel leading east), E (tunnel), EXAMINE LAMP, SWITCH ON LAMP, NE, EXAMINE TUNNEL
(you discover another tunnel heading west), W, N (into a large cave), GET CUTLASS, N (bat cave),
EXAMINE GUANO, EXAMINE BATS, MAKE FIRE (you pile up the dead leaves which you light with the match

NE, NE, S (jungle valley), EXAMINE SHIP, EXAMINE BAY (infested with sharks), FEED SHARKS WITH PIG
(you throw it into the water ... the sharks satiate themselves before leaving the bay), SWIM TO SHIP
(you climb aboard and are an the mid-deck... the captain greets you and says he is looking for
someone to dive for treasure), TALK TO CAPTAIN (he's in search of the lost treasure of Jacob),
E (stern of ship), GET SUIT THEN WEAR IT, D (coral reef), GET WATCH (gold), EXAMINE WATCH (only the
second hand works), EXAMINE HOLD (an octopus is there preventing you from getting a map holder),
ATTACK OCTOPUS WITH CUTLASS (the injured octopus retreats), GET HOLDER (you return to the surface
and remove the map from the holder), REMOVE SUIT THEN DROP IT, EXAMINE MAP (shows the whereabouts of
Jacob's treasure), W, SWIM TO SHORE.

N, SW, SW, S, E, S, E (tunnel), NE, W, N, N, NE (large cavern - there is a lava filled chasm here),
EXAMINE CHASM, EXAMINE FLAMES, TIME FLAMES (using the watch - there is 15 seconds between each
eruption - you now know when it is safe to jump), JUMP CHASM, NE, READ MESSAGE ("here is a key,
a key for thee, Jacob Tobias" - you can now follow the directions on the map), SW, E, S, S,
EXAMINE SKELETONS. EXAMINE CHEST (securely locked). GET CHEST, N, N, N (back to chasm), TIME FLAMES
(with watch), JUMP CHASM, SW, S, S, E, SW, W, N, W. N, NE, NE, S (jungle valley), SWIM TO SHIP (the
captain is pleased to see the chest and asks if you would like to swap it for the harpoon gun), YES
(you are rowed ashore).

N, SW, SW, S, E (lower slopes of volcano  - the branch of a dead tree hangs over the edge), EXAMINE
BRANCH (sturdy), FIRE GUN AT BRANCH (a rope is now suspended from the branch), CLIMB ROPE (ledge), U
(lip of volcano), EXAMINE VOLCANO (noxious vapours escape), HOLD BREATH (do you want to enter the
mouth of the volcano?), YES (you are inside the mouth of the volcano), GET FRAGMENT (you clamber
out), D, D, W, W, W (sandbank), TELEPORT (back to the time bubble), GET ALL (the other two shards),
REPAIR STABILISER (it springs to life and you are back in your own time zone).
