1.                                Introduction

Commando is an interactive fiction adventure that was made in 1984 by Pocket
Money Software. You play as part of an elite Commando unit who has been given a
mission to find a list of enemy agents and return home. The strict parser ruins
things slightly as numerous attempts are usually required to find the correct
command, but overall this a nice little game with some good puzzles.

2.                                Walkthrough

===============================================================================


The game starts in the submerged submarine. PRESS BUTTON to arrive on the deck.
BOARD DINGHY. Move SOUTH three times and EAST twice to the beach. SINK DINGHY.
Move SOUTH to the beach. GO PATH to the pillbox. GO PILLBOX. STAB SOLDIERS. GET
TORCH. Move NORTH, EAST, NORTH three times and EAST twice to the ditch. LOOK
HEDGE to see a hole. GO HOLE to arrive on the country road.

Move NORTH and WEST to the gate-lodge. OPEN CUPBOARD. GET KEY. Move NORTH and
EAST to the chateau. UNLOCK DOOR. OPEN DOOR. GO DOOR to the entrance hall. Move
EAST twice to the study. OPEN BUREAU. GET MONEY. Move SOUTH and WEST to the
kitchen. GET COFFEE. Move NORTH and WEST twice to the guardroom. GIVE COFFEE to
the guard. SEARCH GUARD to find a small key. GET SMALL KEY. OPEN DESK with the
small key. GET PAPER. Move EAST twice and SOUTH to the kitchen.

Turn ON TORCH. GO STEPS to the cellar. Move EAST and SOUTH to the safe. READ
PAPER to see the safe combination. DIAL 661944 to open the safe. GET LIST. Move
WEST, NORTH, UP, NORTH, WEST, SOUTH nine times, EAST twice, SOUTH and EAST to
the wood. CLIMB TREE to the branches. GET PADDLE. Move DOWN, WEST, NORTH, WEST
three times and NORTH to the bottom of a hedge. LOOK HEDGE to see a gap. Move
WEST twice and SOUTH twice to the sentry. GIVE MONEY to the sentry. Move WEST
to the beach with the canoe. BOARD CANOE to complete the game.

ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUN
  Found in the field. It is not used.


COFFEE
  Found in the kitchen at the chateau. It is given to the guard in the
  guardroom.


GUN
  Found on the submarine. It is not used.


KEY
  Found in the cupboard in the gate-lodge. It is used to unlock the door to the
  chateau.


KNIFE
  Found on the deck of the submarine. It is not used.


LIST OF AGENTS
  Found in the safe. It is required to complete the game.


MONEY
  Found in the bureau in the study at the chateau. It is given to the sentry in
  the field.


PADDLE
  Found at the top of the tall tree in the wood. It is used to paddle the canoe
  on the beach.


PIECE OF PAPER
  Found in the desk in the guardroom. It shows the combination for the safe.


SMALL KEY
  After the coffee has been given to the guard in the guardroom at the chateau,
  the small key is found by searching the guard. It is used to unlock the desk
  in the guardroom.


TORCH
  Found in the pillbox. It provides light in the cellar of the chateau.
