Scenario
You have travelled to the South American jungles in search of the legendary City of the Sun. You
wish to return with the fabled golden idol, the statue of the Moon Goddess.

(Start on a rotting dock), W, N, N (base of cliff), GET CROWBAR, S, E (stone hut), EXAMINE SKULL
(the forehead is crushed - leave it), PRY DOOR (it splinters apart), D (west end of tunnel), READ
HIEROGLYPHICS (you can't interpret them yet), E, U (east side of river), N (base of high
cliff), U (top of boulder), U, N, E (jungle swamp), GET MACHETE, W, S, D, D (base of cliff), PRY
BOULDER (it rolls into the river causing a small rockslide), DIG (you uncover something), REDESCRIBE
(it was an Indian spear and a map of human skin), GET SPEAR, GET MAP, EXAMINE MAP (it leads to the
temple of the condor), EXAMINE ROCKS (like a lodestone), GET ROCK, S, D (tunnel), W, U (stone hut).
W, N (to where the sleeping jaguar is), KILL JAGUAR (the spear sinks deep into his chest), U (top of
cliff), N (it's too overgrown), CHOP PATH (using the machete), N (jungle trail), CLIMB TREE,
EXAMINE NEST (you find something), REDESCRIBE, GET EGG, D, CHOP TREE (using the machete - it falls
across the river), DROP MACHETE, W (trading post), GET BOOK, EXAMINE BOOK, READ BOOK (it interprets
hieroglyphics), E, S, D, S, E, D (tunnel), READ HIEROGLYPHICS (translates to "A sacrifice to
the bird god starts your way to the sacred city"), E, READ HIEROGLYPHICS (translates to "A
map of human skin will lead you out of the jungle swamp"), W, U (stone hut), W, N, U, N (to
where the downed tree is crossing the river), E (onto tree), E (jungle trail), E (swamp - note any
direction, ie. N, S, E, W, randomly either takes you to the jungle trail or you remain where you
are), FOLLOW MAP (jungle clearing), DROP BOOK.
S, W, W, W, GET MACHETE, E, E, E (swamp), FOLLOW MAP, DROP MAP, GET BOOK, W (chamber - a headless
skeleton is at your feet), DROP EGG (it breaks against the altar which moves aside revealing a hole
in the floor), D (underground cell), EXAMINE WALL (there is a seam in the wall), PUSH WALL (it moves
aside to reveal a passageway), N (base of rock stairway), U (last step by a stone door), GET BELL
(the strap is connected to the door), CUT STRAP (using machete), DROP MACHETE, GET BELL, RING BELL
(note the door vibrates slightly indicating it might open later), DROP ROCK, DROP BOOK, D, S (cell),
GET KEY (large), U, E (temple anteroom), RING BELL (the door swings open), N (storage room), EXAMINE
CHEST (locked),UNLOCK CHEST (using large key), OPEN CHEST (it contains a gold disk), GET DISK, S, W,
D, N, U, GET BOOK, EXAMINE DOOR (there is a circular depression in it about a foot in diameter),
EXAMINE DISK (about a foot in diameter), PUT DISK (it fits perfectly), RING BELL (the door swings
open), GET ROCK.
N (stone balcony - the door behind you closes and you are trapped on the balcony), THROW BOOK, THROW
KEY (they fall to the valley below), EXAMINE STATUE (the arm points towards the sun), PULL ARM (the
statue slides aside revealing a path to the east), E (end of cliffside trail), EXAMINE STATUE (the
arm holds up a stone hammer and the other points down and has a small bronze sculpture under it -
note don't pull this one yet), EXAMINE SKELETON (the skull is crushed), EXAMINE SCULPTURE
(it's of a condor), GET SCULPTURE (it's stuck), GET SCREWDRIVER (note you can't open
the door from this side), W (back to balcony), JUMP LAKE (you jump into the lake below).
D (under lake where a stone grating covers the opening to a tunnel), EXAMINE GRATING (a small iron
statuette lies there), U (for air), D, HOLD ROCK, GET STATUE, U, E, N (path that circles the lake -
note the items thrown from the balcony are here), DROP ROCK, GET BOOK, W (outside temple of
priests), RING BELL (the door swings open), W (inside cathedral), READ HIEROGLYPHICS (they translate
to "The condor reveals the way"), PUT STATUE (you hear a slight noise - it was the stone
grating opening), E, E, E (note this stone door doesn't open), GET COIN, READ HIEROGLYPHICS
(translates to "The river of souls offers the escape of death"), W, D (under lake), E
(tunnel), U (small indoor pool).
S (warm chamber), READ HIEROGLYPHICS (translates to "Iron will lead to gold), EXAMINE NICHE
(it's empty), EXAMINE BOOKCASE (the books are fake and can't be moved but there's an
empty slot for another book), PUT BOOK (the bookcase slides aside), RING BELL (the west wall
vibrates indicating it will move later), E (north end of passage), INSERT COIN (in the slot - a
small panel slides aside revealing a lever in the wall), PULL LEVER (the floor slides forward
closing the chasm), S (you make it but the floor slides back again - you are in the middle of a
passageway), EXAMINE PIT (it crawls with flesh eating ants), PUT SCREWDRIVER (in the hole - a rope
drops down from the ceiling), CLIMB ROPE (you are beside a rock shelf), EXAMINE SHELF (it contains a
gold disk), GET DISK, D, HOLD ROPE, S (you land on the other side of the pit), U (staircase to by
yet another stone door), EXAMINE DOOR (there is a circular depression in it), PUT DISK (gold), RING
BELL (the door swings open), W (back to end of narrow cliffside where the statue of the Indian
priest is), PULL ARM (the hammer swings down but is blocked by the door - the small bronze sculpture
falls to the ground), GET SCULPTURE, W, JUMP LAKE.
W, W (cathedral), EXAMINE NICHE (contains the statue), GET STATUE, PUT SCULPTURE (this action first
closes then opens the stone grating), E, E (lake), N, GET KEY, S, D, E, U (pool), S (warm chamber),
PUT STATUE, RING BELL (the wall moves aside revealing a solid wood door), EXAMINE DOOR (it's
made of hard old wood and has an iron lock and hinges), UNLOCK DOOR, DROP KEY, OPEN DOOR, GET HINGES
(using the screwdriver), DROP SCREWDRIVER, DROP PINS (hinge), GET DOOR, W (small stone chapel - the
idol of the Moon Goddess is here), GET IDOL, E, E (north end of passage - note don't pull the
lever this time), S (you fall - SPLASH you hit the water... you pull yourself up on the wooden door
and prepare to float down the river of lost souls), S (passage to the sun), S (you are outside in
sunlight), S (to where the downed tree is), GRAB TREE (you pull yourself up onto the tree), W, S, D,
S, S, E (rotting dock where the Indians are waiting to take you back downstream in their primitive
canoes).
You made it back with the idol and you're rich!
