THE GIRL WHO WAS DEATH
Stephen Preston, 1986
=====================

Solution by Exemptus - May 2025

Overview and general hints:
---------------------------

This adventure is based on an episode of the 1960s show "The Prisoner", in which
the protagonist, a former secret agent, resigns from service and is abducted and
imprisoned in a strange community within an isolated village. The premise
revolves around his attempts to escape and/or understand this bizarre setting,
where residents are only known by numbers (he being #6) and constantly monitored
by unseen forces. Psychological manipulation is used to force him to disclose
information - specifically, why he resigned.

The show is definitely surreal and ambiguous in meaning; I recommend watching
the whole thing for context, as the game is a bit inscrutable without it. The
aim for this game is to find Professor Schnipps, who is building a rocket to
destroy London, in the tradition of all crazy mad rogue scientists. The only way
to locate him is to follow his daughter, who is the literal girl of the title:
we are told she is tall, blonde, and wears white. And she will try to kill us.

The game comes in two parts, and completing Part 1 is needed before playing Part
2. There is a time limit to complete the whole game of half an hour (real time!)
so we need to play quickly.

Vocabulary is pretty standard, with TAKE instead of GET (which is not accepted).
It is possible to SAVE the game as long as the score is 25% or more.
