NOTES:
In order to be able to solve the game, you have to take into account that you will get different
health values (strength, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution, charisma) each time you
start a new game, so you have to check your status at the beginning (command STATUS). What I could
find out is the following:
- during the game only your charisma value and the hit points are increasing (unless you are
fighting or have
killed someone), all others stay at the initial value
- to find the meteorite on the island in the crater lake you need an intelligence of at least 10
- fighting a character costs you 2 hit points for every hit your opponent lands
- if you have killed someone your charisma is 2 points less
- I couldn't figure out which 2 values make up the difficulty level in the spells, but if you
start with as
many high values - 11 or 12 - as possible (reload the game until you have the right values), you
should be on
the safe side of solving the game
Talking to a character is only possible from 7:00 to 18:59, so you may have to use the REST command
(REST1 means 1 hour ahead; up to 9 hours are possible).
Dealing with Brion is a bit illogical thing: you have to give him the crucifix to get Page Three,
but to use the HOLY spell you have to possess the crucifix - this means, you have to kill Brion to
get it back; so why give it to him when you can kill him right away to get Page Three?
THE SPELLS
The 'words of power' from the various grimoire pages have the following effects:
Page One (TELE) - allows teleportation between various Lofty Towers
Page Two (DOZE) - kills most of the characters (READ TWO is necessary every time before
casting
the spell, so you have to take Page Two with you)
Page Three (HOLY) - kills the ghouls (King Orkana, L'ateth, K'atck); object needed:
Crucifix
Page Four - contains no spell, but gives you a hint where to find the mandrake root
Page Five (HOLE) - sets the Sword together from its three parts (Hilt, Blade, Pommel Stone)
Page Six (WARE) - shows where you are at the moment; object needed: Ancient Map
Page Seven (SEA9) - finishes your task; object needed: Sword (completed)
Page Eight (CALL) - summons Queen Eyrie; objects needed: Farsight Eye, Eagle's Egg
Examining some of the characters or objects produce an 'It is nothing special' message, so
I omitted these actions in the solution.
