Loves Sweet Garden By Peter Shaw Published in 'Creating adventure programs on the ZX Spectrum', Peter Shaw & James Mortleman, Interface Publications, 1983, pp. 60-67 For Spectrum ZX Solution by Garry Francis ---------------------------------------- This is a fairly minimal solution. As you can see, there is virtually nothing to do apart from map the maze and get the rose. If you kill the hedgemite in the sunken garden, you will find a pair of glasses that will help you read the inscription on the sundial on the patio. I presume this is a hint to navigating the maze, but I have no idea what it means. The glasses are more useful as an extra object to help you map the maze. The garden is full of monsters. There's no point fighting them, as you're up against a random number generator. You can get killed by monsters just by entering the room, so the best strategy is to avoid them. There's only two that can't be avoided. If you decide to fight them, use the dagger, as it at least guarantees that you'll get a hit. (GET DAGGER) (S) (FIGHT HEDGEMITE) (repeat until it's dead, or start again if it kills you) (GET GLASSES) (N) E (FIGHT MCCRAEY) (repeat until it's dead, or start again if it kills you) (E) (READ INSCRIPTION) (W) S S E W S S E W S S GET ROSE N N N S W N ***THE END***
