One is not sure for what purpose the people you meet are to serve. There are many random elements. You can only carry a limited number of objects, which necessitates much retracing of steps. Throughout the game you are not sure what your purpose is. Hints: Below is a list of objects and how they are to be used, as well as where to say the names that the helmet tells you. Some actions cannot be performed unless it is night or it is the next day. As you need Boras at the slab, so don't let him die before his purpose is served. If he blows the horn and dies, go back to an earlier saved game and RESTORE. Even though Zacillaria takes him, he always pops back up and that is necessary until he fulfils his purpose, but annoying after that. The Princess keeps moving because of him (you will find her at the bridge). So, once he has done what he needs to do, let him blow the horn. Zacillaria also takes the sharp sword. You won't need it till the end. You can find it past the cage with the lizard. At the woodcutter's: throw the bucket at the bank of the river. This will start a sequence of events. You see the man with the axe. In his cottage, RUB STONES, then find the axe. Return to the bank of the river and build an object that will help you cross the river. Don't use it immediately. Wait or find the jester first. The portcullis opens after five "actions". You can either WAIT five times, or do something else five times, or OPEN PORTCULLIS five times. Wait at the marsh with the shoes until a new day dawns. HELP is available in several locations though not always for that location. Some of these hints are quite obscure. It also appears to depend on either what you have done before or the time of day/night. The helmet whispers words to you (SEBOTARNIS, ESKOS, and KRALDAR) which change depending in which general area you are. Map carefully. Often the reverse of the way into a location is not the way out of it. There are several places to fill the jug (at the shingle cavern, at the clearing with the spring, at the base of the well, at the well (before the water is stopped up),on wet rocks, at the ford. The locations where you may need to wait (dependent on when you arrive) are: at the marsh at the feast/king's bed at the sickly smelling flower You can wear the ring but you will lose it when day changes into night. So EXAMINE and OPEN it when you get it. Remember to take the horn with you after Boras uses it. Type HELP at the stall. Trade something sweet at the stall. Drop the Eldekar and the prisoner soon after you find them. At the mirror, say the magic word, and GO THROUGH MIRROR. When returning, just go through it. Solution: You are on a wide road.
