Run, Bronwynn, Run! (Run_Bronwynn_Run.txt)

RUN, BRONWYNN, RUN

by Larry Horsfield - FSF Adventures

Solution by Phoebe M. Fuentes
(July 2000)
(Minor revision September 2003 and November 2018)

In this adventure, you play Bronwynn, the unwilling princess bride to
be married off to the loathsome Prince Timothy. The game doesn't
explain what is so reprehensible about the prince that Princess
Bronwynn doesn't want to marry him, but your goal as the princess is to
get as far away from him as possible, in whatever way possible -- all
the way west to Hecate to seek asylum.

This game has very good and creative medium-difficult puzzles with lots
of suspense thrown in since all the guards and villagers are on the
alert about you. You'll find that many people are willing to turn you
in for the large amount of money being offered, so be discrete and
resourceful! Although there are no death scenes in this story, save
early and save often because it's very easy to make a mistake and get
caught.

A nice touch for FSF Adventures fans is a cameo appearance at the end
of the story by a certain well known character who is featured in other
Larry Horsfield games.

This is one of my favorites! Have fun!

Part Three
==========

In the Forest - The Bloodhounds Give Chase
-------------

[ Note: This is one serious chase scene. Quite tough! At the
beginning when you crawl out of the log, you will be asked if you would
like to explore the scene first. It's highly recommended if you want
to figure out the moves on your own instead of reading the solution
below. To find out your coordinates in the area, just type "z" at the
prompt. If you encounter an area that you can't enter in explore mode,
then that should tell you that this is a place you should run to when
actually playing the chase scene.

Also a hint about getting past the river without getting caught: Do as
the fox does in a river to throw off the scent! ]

w, nw, nw, nw, w, wait (until the woodcutter says "TIM-BER!", then...),

fleetwind, yell

At the Hummock - Navigating the Bog
--------------

x hummock, get pebbles (Hint for those who want to figure this out on
their own: Throw pebbles in any direction. If they land in the water
with a "plop" then you won't be able to go in that direction -- no firm
ground to walk on. If they land with a "splash" then that's the
direction to take.), throw pebble sw, sw, throw pebble w, w, throw
pebble s, s, throw pebble se, se, sw, throw pebble w, w, throw pebble
w, w, throw pebble sw, sw, throw pebble sw, sw

Along the Straight Road to Freedom - Avoiding Ambush
----------------------------------

And the rest is history. You're safe from the clutches of Prince
Timothy!
