This is a surreal game, written with much imagination. There is 
as much to do as not to do. You play the role of a young King 
Arthur sent into the future to retrieve his sword from Hitler 
which he needs to become king in the past. Hence the future is at 
the beginning of the 1940's. In Part 1 go exploring through the 
subway, and if you are English, try to determine what the stops 
are from the protagonist's descriptions. In Part 2 there is a 
very long and difficult maze, which will require much time to 
map. All in all, an interesting game written with a sense of 
style and with an emphasis on hard work rather than intensive 
problem solving.  

Remember to heed the words of your teacher - take no weapons. You 
can type HELP, though there really isn't much help. You just see 
Art's bewilderment. 

Part 1:
You are Art (young King Arthur) and need to find the sword of 
power. When the game starts, type YES. You find yourself in a 
dark cave.  Go N, HELP, EXAMINE FLOOR, LOOK, FEEL, TAKE LAMP, 
LAMP ON (you see a door), EXAMINE DOOR, PUSH BAR, FOLLOW PEOPLE 
(you see a screen - you are in a movie theatre), LISTEN, HELP, 
EXAMINE BOX (green and white pattern, TAKE BOX, EXAMINE BOX, OPEN 
BOX (white sticks - cigarettes), LEAVE, S, E, N, N, TAKE GLOVE, 
EXAMINE GLOVE, N, S (a strange figure asks for his glove), GIVE 
GLOVE. The man asks you to follow him and will take you to the 
tunnels of the earth (subway system). You must travel through the 
caves to the hill of the Tower, You will begin at the circus 
where you must not dilly-dally and travel inside the moving worms 
until you discover the place of the Tower. In the cellars there 
is a gate. Go through it and examine everything carefully.

Go N, (you are underground), NW, W, W, W, W, W, N, N, E, EXAMINE 
GIRL, TAKE PACKET, EXAMINE PACKET, OPEN PACKET (a loaded gun), E, 
E, E, E, SE, SE, E, S, LEAVE, E (ignore the spear and the shield 
and any other weapons you may find), DOWN, TAKE KEYS, SW, TAKE 
BAR, S, SE, W, W, EXAMINE MAN (he stops you), GIVE BOX, SW, N 
(you see a gate), EXAMINE GATE (old, rusty, heavy), UNLOCK GATE, 
USE BAR (you jam it open), W. Merlin tells you that you have the 
right things and to say Ago to Europe@ to start Part 2. You must 
carry no weapons when you face the Father of Darkness. When you 
arrive in Europe, you will need the word "Excalibur" before you 
can complete the task. Also, "Afree me" will be needed. Then he 
disappears. GO TO EUROPE.

Part 2:
There are hints and instructions given. Ask Art what he is 
thinking from time to time. A few things will help with the SS 
and the astrologers. Members of the resistance will be helpful, 
but.... You must get to Eagle's Nest. 

You find yourself in a hovel, which feels like home. THINK, HELP 
(no weapons), TAKE WINE, N, E, TAKE SPADE, W, W (you see a 
stable), S, HELP, DIG, TAKE EAGLE, WEAR EAGLE, DROP SPADE, N, 
ENTER STABLE, LAMP ON, EXAMINE CORPSE, TAKE STRIP, EXAMINE STRIP 
(looks like a scabbard), LEAVE, OFF LAMP, E, S, UP, EXAMINE BED, 
LOOK UNDER BED, MOVE BED, TAKE CARD, EXAMINE CARD (it has your 
picture on it), DOWN, N, E, S (ignore the knife), S, EXAMINE 
STREAM (dangerous), W, EXAMINE STREAM (seven-feet wide), JUMP 
STREAM, THINK (go east).



Go E, NE, NE (ignore the axe), S, E, TAKE STICK, S, S, W, NW, E. 
(The eagle protects you), ENTER BUILDING (you see the girl who 
gave you the gun. She wants it). GIVE GUN, (she wants the 
password), EXCALIBUR (you find yourself in a van), HIDE. The girl 
tells you it's a long way across France to the border. Go N, N 
(you leave the van), TAKE RUSTY KEY, E (you have to go across the 
fence), E, FREE ME (you cross the border). Here follows one of 
the most complex mazes I have ever seen. If you like mazes 
explore it. If not...

Go NE, NW (ignore the bell), N, NW, DROP LAMP, TAKE ROPE, WEAR 
ROPE, TAKE LAMP, E, S, S, E, E (there is a hint of trees), NE 
(you see a box), EXAMINE BOX, HELP (Merlin's box), DROP LAMP, 
TAKE BOX, OPEN BOX (you see a gold key, while the box falls into 
a crevice), TAKE KEY, TAKE LAMP, S, E, N, UP, N, N (you are in 
front of a cave), N, ON LAMP, E, SE, OFF LAMP, HELP (do you have 
everything?), DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, E, EXAMINE GUARD, GIVE WINE (the 
guard falls asleep), E, UP (you are in the Eagle's Nest), E, UP 
(ignore the whip - it is a weapon), E, UP, USE STICK (the dogs 
disappear), DROP STICK, TIE ROPE, E, N, W, N (ignore the poison).

Go W, EXAMINE ROOM (you see a mirror and a box-like thing), OPEN 
BOX, ON LAMP, ENTER WARDROBE (you fall downwards into a dark 
room), USE STRIP (the casket shatters and you see Excalibur), 
TAKE EXCALIBUR, KILL ASTROLOGISTS, KILL HITLER (you can't), E, E, 
E, S, S, W, OFF LAMP, DROP KEY, TAKE STICK, DOWN, UP, UP (you are 
at the base of a cliff), W, SW, W, S. Merlin calls you. You are 
finished with 130 %.
