BEHOLD - ATLANTIS

This is a pleasant, straightforward game that is quite solvable, with 
the exception of a few "find the right verb" problems. Several, not 
always helpful, hints are available at certain locations. Leave reality 
behind, as this game requires a leap in imagination.

There are a few unnecessary objects - the matches, the axe, the stick, 
the wooden key

You are on Thira and are tantalized with the possibility that you have 
discovered Atlantis. You need to find the High Priest, Leskos who will 
tell you the tale.

INVENTORY (you are wearing jeans and a T-shirt). You see a Greek with a 
mule to rent. SAY HELLO TO GREEK (he puts his hand out asking for 
money). EXAMINE JEANS (you find drachmas). Ignore the Greek for the 
time being. Go N, OPEN WARDROBE, EXAMINE WARDROBE (you see a suitcase), 
OPEN SUITCASE, EXAMINE SUITCASE (you see matches and a bather - to the 
non-Brits of the world, a bather is a swimming suit), TAKE BATHER, 
EXAMINE SUITCASE (you get goggles), TAKE GOGGLES, REMOVE JEANS, WEAR 
BATHER, S, E, SAY HELLO TO YOUTH (he points to his legs), GIVE JEANS 
(you get the sandals), WEAR SANDALS, W, S, BUY TORCH, BUY KNIFE, 
EXAMINE KNIFE (sharp enough, but not very sharp), EXAMINE TORCH (once 
on it needs to stay on), N.

When you see the Greek with the mule again (and you may need to wait 
until he arrives), RIDE MULE (you hear  Zeus). You are dropped off at a 
beach. DROP DRACHMAS, TAKE SPADE, SWIM, WEAR GOGGLES, DIVE, ON TORCH, 
(you are on the sea bed), W, E, DIG, TAKE STONE, S, W (the kelp 
prevents you), EXAMINE STONE (it is a whetstone), STROKE KNIFE, CUT 
KELP, W. You enter the cavern but drop everything in the process. TAKE 
SPONGE, EXAMINE SPONGE (has some give), W, DOWN, EXAMINE LESKOS (one of 
his fingers is chopped off. You remember that priests would partly die 
is not wearing the holy ring), E, E, EXAMINE ALTAR, EXAMINE HYMN (if 
it's worn it will keep you warm), E, EXAMINE CUPBOARD, OPEN CUPBOARD, 
EXAMINE CUPBOARD, TAKE CLOAK (you can't - there are two bars 
restraining the cloak), HELP (they are moved from afar). 

Go W, W, S, E, TAKE WINESKIN, EXAMINE WINESKIN W, N, W, W, S, TAKE AXE 
(it crumbles), N, E, UP, E, FILL WINESKIN, W, DOWN, W, W, S, S, S, NE, 
TAKE FINGER, EXAMINE FINGER (it has a ring on it), TAKE RING (how to 
remove it?), SW, N, E, N, N, EXAMINE GARDEN (hard and dry), EMPTY 
WINESKIN (you make mud), DROP WINESKIN, N (you see a circle of stones 
that suggests people danced in it), DANCE (you create a hole), W, TAKE 
JAR (it is full of acid), PUT FINGER IN JAR, E, E, E, S, S, E, E, 
EXAMINE CHAMBER, TAKE HOOK, EXAMINE HOOK, USE HOOK, TAKE RING, DROP 
HOOK, DROP JAR, W, PUT RING ON LESKOS. He awakens. He will tell you the 
tale if you say the secret password. ZEUS.



Leskos tells you about the earthquake, about making air and food and how to 
purify the sea (probably had something to do with the wineskin). He says that 
the king is a prisoner and you need to find him and return his crown. He gives 
you a flint. Go W, W, S, JUMP, TAKE SPADE, CRAWL, TAKE ROPE, CRAWL, EXAMINE 
WALL (you see a lever), PULL LEVER (nothing apocalyptic happens), UP, N, E, E, 
E, E, E (you see that the bars have loosened), TAKE CLOAK, WEAR CLOAK, W, W, 
W, W, N, N, DIG, TAKE CROWN, EXAMINE CROWN, N, DOWN, TAKE CANDLE (you can't), 
HELP (a trampoline might help), DROP SPONGE, JUMP. The candle falls. TAKE 
CANDLE.

STRIKE FLINT (the candle lights), SW, TAKE NECKLACE, EXAMINE NECKLACE (fit for 
a queen), W, W, EXAMINE SIGN, READ SIGN (don't encumber yourself), DROP 
NECKLACE, REMOVE CLOAK, DROP CLOAK, HELP (use the peg), TIE ROPE, SWING ROPE, 
TAKE DAGGER, EXAMINE DAGGER, TAKE COIN, EXAMINE COIN (head of the king on one 
side and a bridge on the other), HELP, (ingenuity needed), RUB COIN (you 
create a bridge), CROSS BRIDGE (it crumbles behind you), TAKE CLOAK, WEAR 
CLOAK, TAKE NECKLACE, E, EXAMINE CHAMBER, E, NE, UP, E, S, EXAMINE SLIME, 
EXAMINE SLIME, DROP CANDLE, TAKE PICK, EXAMINE PICK (sharp). Ignore the stick. 

Go N, N, W, W, EXAMINE CHAMBER (you see a mound of ice), CHOP MOUND, DROP 
PICK, TAKE DOCUMENTS, EXAMINE DOCUMENTS (they allow you to pass a guard), E, 
E, E, S, S, E, E, S, E, SE, E. You are at the guard. SHOW DOCUMENT (you are 
allowed to pass), DOWN, EXAMINE KING (he is in suspended animation), PUT CROWN 
ON KING. He awakens, but decides not to give you a reward until his queen is 
here. TAKE SANDALS, WEAR SANDALS, EXAMINE DOOR, EXAMINE LUMP, LEVER LUMP (you 
need the spade not the stick. The door is mutilated as the clay rolls into 
it).

DROP SPADE, SW (you see the queen), EXAMINE QUEEN, FREE QUEEN, DROP DAGGER, 
PUT NECKLACE ON QUEEN (she goes off to find the king), NE, TAKE CROWN, PUT 
CROWN ON KING. He takes you to the Treasure room and gives you a bag of coins 
as a reward. He taps on the wall three times. You are back on the beach. TAKE 
DRACHMAS, WAIT (until the Greek comes with the mule), RIDE MULE. You are 
finished. Score: 100/100.
