The first move gives you a list of the 6 verbs that you can use. You can also use INVENTORY. Other verbs will work, but are unlikely to do anything useful other than remind you of your scurvy-ridden state. Events on the yacht are not random. The manatee appears after 3 moves. This starts the cycle. It hangs around for 2 moves, then disappears, nothing happens for 4 moves, then the next creature appears and the cycle repeats. The creatures appear in the order: manatee, rat, seagull, then back to the beginning. When you hallucinate, you are transported to another location. You have 4 moves to do anything in that location, then you return to the yacht. When in another location, the actions of non-player characters are random. Some actions (or their conversation) are more useful than others, so be patient. You'll need to EXAMINE everything for this solution to make sense.
